Maths - Problem Solving - Term 3 Week 4
Hi everyone!
For math, Our class got split into groups of two or three. In our groups, We had to solve some math problems. I got put in a group of three, Two girls and me.
Here is the ticket problem:
Tickets
The Crusaders played the Highlanders at Orange theory Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Tickets are $24.00.
1)They were running a deal online, which deal would be the best one to go for if I was buying a
ticket for myself and a friend?
1/10 off both tickets | Buy 1 get 1 half price | ¼ off 1 ticket |
2) My friend had to sell their ticket, if they bought their ticket for $24.00 and sold it
for ⅝ of what they paid for it, for how much did they sell it for?
Here are my groups answers:
For number one my group answered buy one get one half price and one fourth off one ticket
because they would both be thirty six dollars.
For number two my group answered fifteen dollars because twenty four divided by eight is
three and three times five is fifteen.

Writing - Persuasive Writing - Term 3 Week 4
Hello people!
I will show you my DLO (Digital Learning object) Our class had to answer these questions and create a bank of at least six words to capture the enormity of our issue. For me, that issue is hunger.
Questions
What are your feelings about the enormity of the problem?
I feel sad because a lot of people (25 thousand people, That's almost everyone in Timaru!) die of Hunger everyday.
How might the problem seem to the listener?
I think the problem will seem big to the listener.
Word Bank:
1) Dangerous
2) Desperate
3) Horrifying
4) Fierce
5) Awful
6) Terrible

Writing - Persuasive Writing - Term 3 Week 3
Hello Readers,
We are going to write a speech about the 16 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) We got given the opportunity to pick the first one to four Goals which are: one no poverty, two zero Hunger, three good health and well-being and four quality education. I picked two zero Hunger. I am going to share Information about Hunger and some rhetorical questions I can use in my speech.
Here is my information about hunger:
FAO says that 25 000 people are dying of hunger and poverty every day That's almost everyone in Timaru.
There is enough food for everyone in the world but people are still dying.
Here are my rhetorical questions:
So, Do you want to live a healthy life?
Why are people dying from hunger when there is enough food for everyone in the world?
If you know any facts about hunger or stuff like this, Please let me know in the comments bellow.
Farewell!

Math - Term 3 Week 2
Hello people reading this,
For math we had to solve these math problems with a partner.
Here are the questions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Using the image above, what is the ratio between the pedal gear and sprocket?
B. If you were to turn the crank 9 full rotations how many revolutions would the wheel do?
C. If one rotation of the pedal gear moves the bike 150cm,
how far will the bike travel around the track if you did 5 full rotations of the pedal gear.
D. Which gear ratio would you have to pedal more as you go once around the
bike track - 4:1 or 2:1, what is your reasoning?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are me and my partners answers
A. Me and my partner got the answer 3:1. If the Pedal gear (39 teeth) does one rotation then the Sprocket (13 teeth) does three rotations because 13 times 3 is 39.
B. (I don't remember doing this with my partner. I think we did it but I can't remember the answer. Sorry)
C. Me and my partner got the answer 750 because I full rotation is 150cm and they asked for 5 full rotations, so 150 x 5 = 750.
D. We thought about the first question and the answer (3:1) if the sprocket was smaller (4:1) then you would pedal more because the pedal gear will have even more teeth then the Sprocket.
goodbye my wonderful friends.
see you in the next one!
