Maths - Problem Solving - Term 3 Week 4
Hi everyone!
For math, Our class got split into groups of two or three. In our groups, We had to solve some math problems. I got put in a group of three, Two girls and me.
Here is the ticket problem:
Tickets
The Crusaders played the Highlanders at Orange theory Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Tickets are $24.00.
1)They were running a deal online, which deal would be the best one to go for if I was buying a
ticket for myself and a friend?
1/10 off both tickets | Buy 1 get 1 half price | ¼ off 1 ticket |
2) My friend had to sell their ticket, if they bought their ticket for $24.00 and sold it
for ⅝ of what they paid for it, for how much did they sell it for?
Here are my groups answers:
For number one my group answered buy one get one half price and one fourth off one ticket
because they would both be thirty six dollars.
For number two my group answered fifteen dollars because twenty four divided by eight is
three and three times five is fifteen.
Thank you for reading this blog if you have any questions then feel free to ask me in the
comment section bellow.
Good bye my friends!

Writing - Persuasive Writing - Term 3 Week 4
Hello people!
I will show you my DLO (Digital Learning object) Our class had to answer these questions and create a bank of at least six words to capture the enormity of our issue. For me, that issue is hunger.
Questions
What are your feelings about the enormity of the problem?
I feel sad because a lot of people (25 thousand people, That's almost everyone in Timaru!) die of Hunger everyday.
How might the problem seem to the listener?
I think the problem will seem big to the listener.
Word Bank:
1) Dangerous
2) Desperate
3) Horrifying
4) Fierce
5) Awful
6) Terrible

Writing - Persuasive Writing - Term 3 Week 3
Hello Readers,
We are going to write a speech about the 16 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) We got given the opportunity to pick the first one to four Goals which are: one no poverty, two zero Hunger, three good health and well-being and four quality education. I picked two zero Hunger. I am going to share Information about Hunger and some rhetorical questions I can use in my speech.
Here is my information about hunger:
FAO says that 25 000 people are dying of hunger and poverty every day That's almost everyone in Timaru.
There is enough food for everyone in the world but people are still dying.
Here are my rhetorical questions:
So, Do you want to live a healthy life?
Why are people dying from hunger when there is enough food for everyone in the world?
If you know any facts about hunger or stuff like this, Please let me know in the comments bellow.
Farewell!

Math - Term 3 Week 2
Hello people reading this,
For math we had to solve these math problems with a partner.
Here are the questions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Using the image above, what is the ratio between the pedal gear and sprocket?
B. If you were to turn the crank 9 full rotations how many revolutions would the wheel do?
C. If one rotation of the pedal gear moves the bike 150cm,
how far will the bike travel around the track if you did 5 full rotations of the pedal gear.
D. Which gear ratio would you have to pedal more as you go once around the
bike track - 4:1 or 2:1, what is your reasoning?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are me and my partners answers
A. Me and my partner got the answer 3:1. If the Pedal gear (39 teeth) does one rotation then the Sprocket (13 teeth) does three rotations because 13 times 3 is 39.
B. (I don't remember doing this with my partner. I think we did it but I can't remember the answer. Sorry)
C. Me and my partner got the answer 750 because I full rotation is 150cm and they asked for 5 full rotations, so 150 x 5 = 750.
D. We thought about the first question and the answer (3:1) if the sprocket was smaller (4:1) then you would pedal more because the pedal gear will have even more teeth then the Sprocket.
goodbye my wonderful friends.
see you in the next one!

Writing - Hansel and Gretel - Week 1 - Term 3
Smell | The great smell drifted off the sweet cooke house and caught the attention of Hansel and Gretel. The wonderful scent of the house traveled through the forest and met Hansel and Gretel. The sweet scent of the candy glided passed the tall trees and stopped and Gretel and Hansel noses. Their eyes widened with wonder. |
Wait | They crouched down beside a bush and froze, Waiting in silence. They silently hid behind the bush examining the strange house. They were almost invisible when they were hidden in the bushes. |
Similes | The forest was a dark muddy place that stretched as far as the eye could see. The old trees were as tall as a skyscraper. Long vines wrapped around the trees and plants around Hansel and Gretel. |

Writing Week 8
STORM
ZAP! ''Whoa'' screams Will as he slipped and fell on the hard stone floor. ''Are you ok? That storm really does not want to leave!'' says Nick. ''yeah, I'm good'' answers Will. Nick glanced through the window and at the storm, in the corner of his eye was a A dark shadow. The mysterious shadow was running towards a mountain then it disappeared. ''Did you see that?'' yells Nick as he placed his hands on the window. Will got up from the floor ''see what?'' he said as he rushed over. The shadow appeared again ''Over there!'' he pointed to a shadow on the mountain in the distance. ZAP! the lightning struck again they both looked at the mountain where the shadow one was. ''It's gone'' said Will. They were standing there with their mouths wide open. Nick ran Down stairs and into a big dark room. ''Nick, are you doing what I think you're doing?'' asked Will as he followed ''Well what are you thinking about? I'm just gonna save that well . . I don't know what it is, from that storm!'' replied Nick. Nick turned the lights. in the room there was a massive door-like strusher and two objects with a black soft cloth on top of both of them. ''Which one?'' asked Will ''How about the Giant one?'' suggested Nick ''Alright!'' yelled Will as he yanked the black soft sheet off the object. Underneath appeared a massive truck with really Thick wheels the size of a regular car! Nick jumped in and grabbed the leather wheel ''Come on Will!'' called Nick. Will hoped on. Will pressed a button then there was a loud noise. The giant door opened and Nick raced through the door and into the storm. ''UP THERE!''said Will pointing up to the mountain. The engine was roaring like a lion in a zoo. ''HERE WE GO!'' yelled Nick as he stomped on the pedal. They were speeding up the mountain, Well they were speeding up the mountain when the engine had started to make some odd noises. BONK! CLANK! RATTLE! ''Um . . Nick? . . I think something is wrong with the engine'' ''yeah'' said Nick. They started to slowly go backwards. ''Why are you going backwards'' asked Will. Nick was confused ''I'm not'' he said. '' WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!? yelled Will in terror. Then they went faster and faster and the ground became full of lumps and bumps. ''AHHHH!!!'' They both screamed as they were bouncing like bouncy balls all throughout the car. They had finally come to a standstill. With the last of Will's energy he opened the door and rolled out onto the cold muddy floor. Nick rolled out with his hands on his head. He was walking but just not straight. ''I'm dizzy'' he said. ''Nick, I don't remember you wearing dark clothes'' said Will ''What? . . No you're wearing that black outfit'' said Nick. Then an unknown voice whispered from the bushes. ''What are you doing here? it to dangerous!'' ''AHHH a ghost!'' screamed Will. ''AHHH three ghosts!!'' called Nick. ''It's just one ghost Nick!'' said Will as he got up the muddy dirt.
To be continued. . . . .
Question:
What do you thing will happen?
Can you give me ideas on what could happen?
