Wonder T-Shirts

Hi

We had to make T-shirt designs that had something to do with kindness or Wonder (The movie). We have seen a movie called Wonder, and been putting Ideas on our T-Shirts. Some of us used ''#Choosekind'', ''Kind is the key'' or ''Kind is cool!'' The teacher's will receive the Ideas and they will make a better T-Shirt for everyone. We can also win an T-shirt by doing something kind, like if an little kid who had no one to play with, then you can play with him (or her) and if you do something good then you get an kindness ticket (piece of paper that has a kindness thing on it) and you put it in the kindness bucket in the Office. Then every assembly they bring the bucket to the new hall (not that new) (in the back feld in the hall where we do are assembly) and we do our assembly and then the kindness bucket they only do one raffle draw so it is very hard to get one, but there is an assembly every two weeks on friday. this is my T-shirt I made

Have you seen Wonder? and do you like my T-shirt ideas?

My Writing (still in progress)

THE RUN

To day I was going to steal the core gem.
It was  My secret path to my vehicles. The shortcut leed to my garage. When I arrived to my garage I got out my porsche out ''This is more like it'' I hoped in. I raped my fingers around the steering wheel, slammed down the right pedal and race on the road. bolt was in the back sleeping. (It was his favorite place to sleep) After a couple of minutes later the police came. ''Stop right there!'' seid one of the cop's. Up ahead there was trafic. oh! no! I thought. I was trapped! We were getting closer and closer. So I did a u turn and headed for the cops. the cops One cop said ''hey!'' We were going to crash!! I pressed a red button and my car made a big hole on the car's roof. Then suddenly the seat was flying with me. I landed on a tramp then I jumped up on the roof and started to head down . It was hard with the chimneys and Very loose bricks. I didn't think I'll go that far. I was all most there. The police started to shoot at me they even followed me with their cars. Pew! Pew! They hit a brick and I slipped! ''Ahhh'' I said as I fell. I got knocked out.

I woke up and saw the people with tattoos and strong people, then an old wise man. ''In here'' said The Soldier I got thrown into prison again. It will be hard to get out with all the soldiers surrounding the place. It was all most bolt's breakfast. He's going to be dead by the time I'll be back. Meanwhile at home bolt was running dog play area where he gets his food, but not his time.

(still in progress)

Did you like it? What else should I add?

Bye

swimming

HI I'm Christopher

I've bean doing swimming for 7 years. I started when I was 5 and I'm 11 now so that means I've bean doing it

For two weeks our school has been swimming at QE11. There were three groups, Group one, Group, two, and Group three, If you were confident at swimming four lengths (100 meters) easy then you go in group three, but I knew it was going to be harder than that. four or five people were confident and went, and the rest stayed with me.

The people who stayed had to do an test if you fail you go in to the first group, and if you pass you go in the second group. I Jumped in it was freezing but I swam through the cold water ''Go in the second lane'' They said to me so I made it in to the second lane. The test was easy we has to do freestyle for one length (25 meters) I passed. The second lane was not too easy and a little hard. A few weeks later we did some challenging stuff. Four lengths of freestyle, four lengths of backstroke and two lengths of breaststroke all without kicking only arms nonstop! Then another two lengths of breaststroke with kicking and arms nonstop!!

Do you think that swimming 250 meters with no arms is hard?

bye!

P.B.L #1

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question
was: How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?

First we learned what STEAM stood for
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws
that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks. Then make a table that was able
to balance M'n'Ms for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because we
worked more as a team and Cleo and Megan worked on there own thing and the rest cut tape,
straws and newspaper and bend stuff for them to tape on.

In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using
the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.

Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create
enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.

My team made two flavors of lip scrub lemonade and bubblegum we sold everything!

Reflection

My highlight from this PBL was that we got to use st. Francis money to buy other people's things
for the market day. we sold to mostly girls. (cause it was for mostly girls)

Next time I would put more flavors like apple flavor or grape flavor and make a lot more lip scrub.

P.B.L #2

Hi

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas. Culture is we read myths from New Zealand.
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read Hatupatu and the bird woman.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by me and my friend made a sign and I some painting on the background.

I think the show might impact on others by helping them learn

What I learned about working with others was you can't do all the work cause the other person

P.B.L #3

P.B.L

hi I am learning P.B.L

P.B.L stands for project based learning. In P.B.L me and my friend Kade did an animation about what is good to eat to stay fit and what is good to eat when you sleep. healthy food is good to eat to stay fit because it has more protean and less fat. unhealthy food is good for you when you sleep because you have to carry around more fat and it will make you more tired.
