Writing - Persuasive Writing - Term 3 Week 3

 Hello Readers,

We are going to write a speech about the 16 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) We got given the opportunity to pick the first one to four Goals which are: one no poverty, two zero Hunger, three good health and well-being and four quality education. I picked two zero Hunger. I am going to share Information about Hunger and some rhetorical questions I can use in my speech.

Here is my information about hunger:

FAO says that 25 000 people are dying of hunger and poverty every day That's almost everyone in Timaru.

There is enough food for everyone in the world but people are still dying.

Here are my rhetorical questions:

So, Do you want to live a healthy life?

Why are people dying from hunger when there is enough food for everyone in the world?

If you know any facts about hunger or stuff like this, Please let me know in the comments bellow.

Farewell!

Math - Term 3 Week 2

Hello people reading this,

For math we had to solve these math problems with a partner.

Here are the questions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A. Using the image above, what is the ratio between the pedal gear and sprocket?

B. If you were to turn the crank 9 full rotations how many revolutions would the wheel do?

C. If one rotation of the pedal gear moves the bike 150cm,

how far will the bike travel around the track if you did 5 full rotations of the pedal gear.

D. Which gear ratio would you have to pedal more as you go once around the

bike track - 4:1 or 2:1, what is your reasoning?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are me and my partners answers

A. Me and my partner got the answer 3:1. If the Pedal gear (39 teeth) does one rotation then the Sprocket (13 teeth) does three rotations because 13 times 3 is 39.

B. (I don't remember doing this with my partner. I think we did it but I can't remember the answer. Sorry)

C. Me and my partner got the answer 750 because I full rotation is 150cm and they asked for 5 full rotations, so 150 x 5 = 750.

D. We thought about the first question and the answer (3:1) if the sprocket was smaller (4:1) then you would pedal more because the pedal gear will have even more teeth then the Sprocket.

goodbye my wonderful friends.

see you in the next one!

Writing - Hansel and Gretel - Week 1 - Term 3

Hello Friends!

Here is my Writing Task

Smell

The great smell drifted off the sweet cooke house and caught the attention of Hansel and Gretel.

The wonderful scent of the house traveled through the forest and met Hansel and Gretel.

The sweet scent of the candy glided passed the tall trees and stopped and Gretel and Hansel noses. Their eyes widened with wonder.

Wait

They crouched down beside a bush and froze, Waiting in silence.

They silently hid behind the bush examining the strange house.

They were almost invisible when they were hidden in the bushes.

Similes

The forest was a dark muddy place that stretched as far as the eye could see.

The old trees were as tall as a skyscraper.

Long vines wrapped around the trees and plants around Hansel and Gretel.

I Really do hope you like it.
I you have any questions or thoughts please share then in the comment section.
For now goodbye!
